Ever After Kune Kunes
Our Breeding Program
The Ever After Kune Kune herd started with Sally and Mahia Love lines, both lines known to produce larger kunes. As we learned more about Kune Kunes from our mentors and fellow breeders, we were able to determine exactly what we wanted from these wonderful pigs that can serve as pets, pasture keepers or meat. With the aim of becoming more self-sufficient, we shifted our approach to focus on keeping a smaller herd with a focus on healthy growth rates and conformation, primarily as meat pigs.
Why Kune Kunes?
Kune Kune pigs are a breed of grazing pigs that originated in New Zealand. They are smaller breed of pigs, boars usually ranging from 150-275lbs, and are known for their docile and friendly temperaments. They are excellent grazers and are less prone to rooting due to their short upturned snouts. Their friendly behavior make them very easy to handle and perfect for small hobby farms and homesteads both as grazers and pasture tenders, but also for meat production.
MEET OUR BOARS

ALVIN
.
Alvin is the newest boar on the Homestead, bringing in new bloodlines to the herd.

NACHO
Virginia KuneKunes Mahia Love 30
Nacho is the big man on the pasture but also a complete sweetheart. He loves nothing more than a good rub and a roll in the mud wallow.

JAFAR
Ever After Mahia Love
Jafar is another sweetheart. He is always happy to receive pets and neck scratches. And while he appeared to be on the smaller side, he is gradually filling in to be quite the little boar.
One of his best friends is Evan, and the two of them are often seen going around together.
MEET OUR SOWS AND GILTS

DAFFY LYNN
Virginia KuneKunes Trish 21
Princess Daffy Lynn has been spoiled from day one, living inside and enjoying quite the pampering. That life of pampering continued as she moved outside. Daffy loves her people and getting attention and will always be ready for more belly rubs.

HEATHER
Virginia KuneKunes Sally 9
Heather is a natural Mama and the head of the herd. During her first litter we did notice she had a few blind teats, but she did not have any issues feeding her litter. She is a very good mother and did not show any aggression towards us at any point during her pregnancy and after delivery.

OMI
Ever After Sally
Omi is a little firecracker, always full of energy and never afraid to fight back if her siblings pick on her. A bit more independent than the others, she'll sometimes wander off on her own before returning to the herd.
MEET OUR BARROWS

MICKEY
Virginia KuneKunes Ru 32
Mickey is all smiles all the time. Very friendly but also quite playful he is the reason we fell in love with the breed.

PAISANO
Virginia KuneKunes BH Tutaki 17
Paisano is a character. Always the first to alert us to dinner time he is the most vocal of our herd and quite the chatterbox. He is a very playful pig with the personality of a cat.
EVAN
Virginia KuneKunes Andrew 19
Evan is a very sweet friendly barrow that loves his people. He's much more of a people-pig and loves following you every where. Compared to our other pigs, he is very much on the smaller side.
Evan is deaf and has a tendency to wander off on his own away from his herd because of it. While it gives him the impression of being a loner, this could not be further from the truth. He has been picked on by the bigger ones and instead prefers to be a nanny to the younger pigs. He has helped raise all the newly weaned boars adjust to moving to a new pasture with the others.
